Instructor Self Introduction
Hi my name is Steve Rapp. I was born in New York and have lived all over the United States to include Seattle and San Diego. My wife is from Shinshiro and we are now residing here with our daughter. Having worked for Boeing while in America has allowed me to travel the World extensively. Since that time I have become a full time Musician and enjoy painting, cooking, photography, and just about anything to do with the Arts. I am interested in teaching English to students of Japan in a modern and newer technique that is used by many people in America. It is a creative learning style. This style takes the student away from traditional rigorous repetition in books and encourages them through total immersion in creativity to express themselves while learning English. Therefore, having more of a grasp and feel for the language instead of just knowing words. Whether you just want to have fun or are going on a trip or need a supplement to a traditional English class I can guarantee this will be a fun and enriching experience. Thank you so much.
こんにちは。私はスティーブ ラップです。私はニューヨークに産まれ、シアトルやサンディエゴを含むアメリカのいたる所に住んでいました。アメリカではボーイング社で働き、広範囲に世界を旅することを許されていていました。旅をすることで幸運にも様々な見解を体感することが出来ました。その体験から私はミュージシャンになり、オンラインで自曲を販売できるまでになりました。また、シアトルのラジオ局のミュージックランキング上位にもあがり、インタビューも受けたことがあります。他にも絵画や写真、創作料理にも興味を持ち芸術とは何かを考えながら、それぞれを総合的に楽しみ、学んでいます。幸運にも私の妻は新城の出身で今私たちは娘と一緒にここで暮らし、日本の文化、芸術に触れ、視野を広げることが出来ています。
私はアメリカでたくさんの人が使っているモダンで新しいテクニックの英語を日本の生徒達に教えることにも興味を持ちました。それは創造的な学習スタイルです。このスタイルは、教科書などで厳密な反復をすること（いわゆる暗記）から生徒を解放し、自分を表現するための創造性を持った英語学習、トータルイマージョンを利用することを奨励しています。（トータルイマージョン・・・学習中の言語を使って生活しながらその言語を習得する教育法）すなわち、ただ知っているだけの単語にはしないで、言葉をもっと感じることで理解し、英語を自分の表現ツールにしていきます。
